Happy Holidays from MCRW!

On behalf of the McLennan County Republican Women let me thank you for all of the ways you contribute to our organization and community! We have accomplished so much this year.

During the 2008 election cycle we actively supported Republican candidates with countless hours of volunteer service, voter registration, promotion of the Republican platform at numerous educational forums, and representation at many local and regional special events. Our ladies logged over 4,000 hours working in campaigns in just the last three months alone!

Congratulations to all newly elected or re-elected Republican office holders. We fought a good fight in this county and should be proud of the progress that has been made. Our work has only just begun! Now is the time to roll up our sleeves!

During this season of thankfulness and cheer, be sure to give a fellow member a pat on the back for all that they have done throughout this past year. And thank you again for all your work, dedication and support of the Republican Party.

Christmas Social for December Meeting

It's getting chilly outside! Come enjoy the warmth of friendship and fellowship on December 16th, 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm at the Onward & Upward building, 4709 Bosque in Waco. We will have numerous types of soup and chili with all of the fixins'! The cost is $10, payable in cash. Contact Barbara Kasmiroski with your reservation by noon on Friday, December 12th. This will be a regular meeting of MCRW with items of business that should take no more than half an hour. Hope to see you there!

Donation of School Supplies

Thank you to everyone who contributed school supplies as a part of our Caring for America Committee's latest project to support our troops. At our November meeting we donated the school supplies to Specialist Remington Smith, of the U.S. Army's 42nd Field Artillery of the 4th I.D. His wife, Megan Smith, accepted the school supplies on his behalf. The school supplies are on the way to Iraq where Specialist Smith's unit is helping to build schools.

Special Meeting: December 30, 2008

Mark your calendars! There will be a Special Meeting of the general membership on December 30, 2008 from 12 - 1 pm at the Onward & Upward building, 4709 Bosque in Waco. We ask that all active voting members make a concerted effort to join us at this very important meeting. We will be voting on a proposed amendment to the MCRW Bylaws and, in the event the proposed amendment passes, we will be nominating, electing and installing 2009 officers at that time. There is no cost. Lunch will not be served. You may bring a brown bag lunch. See you there.
