- Rachel Woods, President
If you are fired up about the current political environment or are concerned about the growing size of our government and want to make a difference in 2009 and in upcoming elections, the McLennan County Republican Women PAC is a way to make this happen. We are currently developing and strengthening our organization so that we will be poised for success in our next election cycle.
Come to our meetings. Join us in our fight for American business, limited government, conservative values and personal responsibility.

April 15 Tea Parties in Waco
- Dawn Maitz, Communications Chair
Two Waco-McLennan County Tax Day Tea Parties are planned for April 15, 2009. There is a mid-day event 11:30 - 1:30 at the Freedom Fountain in downtown Waco, located between the Hilton and the Convention Center at 300 Austin Avenue in Waco. And there is an evening event 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Waco Suspension Bridge at Indian Springs Park in Waco. Both of these events are to be peaceful, law-abiding, respectful protests to say we are Taxed Enough Already! All Americans who are "Taxed Enough Already" are invited to attend.
Attendees are encouraged to bring signs, banners, and indignation at the outrageous taxation and spending by our President and Congress.
A "We the People" food drive is being conducted as part of the event. Please show your generosity by bringing a non-perishable food item with you.
This event is not a partisan event; it is an American event. No formal speeches and no formal agenda are planned for the rally.
More information about these events is available at http://www.wacoteaparty.com/. Download a tea party sign that reads Give Me Liberty ... Not Debt!.
Action Alert: April 7 Voter ID Rally
- Kelly Yarbrough, Legislation Chair
Please plan to attend the Voter ID Rally on Tuesday, April 7 at 11:30 am in Austin. We will meet at the south steps of the Capitol, hear remarks from guest speakers, then proceed to the John Reagan Building Room 120 (on the north side of the Capitol grounds) where the committee hearing will take place. The hearing is expected to begin sometime around noon. You may also sign up to testify at this time. Testimony will be limited to three minutes. Even if you don't plan to testify, you can register your support for the committee record. It is essential to have a huge turnout so our Representatives will realize the importance of this legislation and pass SB 362. We need to stand firm and make sure that the legislation is not watered down from its current format. Remember to wear red!

"Tea Bag" Protest Notes
If you are intending to participate in the "tea bag" protest against runaway spending and increased taxation, please do not mail actual tea bags to the White House. A tea bag will be seen as a suspicious substance. Mail only the tea bag tag along with a short note asking that the U.S. government please stop spending money that we don't have and refrain from increasing taxes.
